Terms of Use
Posted on 10. Apr, 2006 by Kirsten.
In my time online, I have discovered that it is necessary to have some kind of ‘terms of use’ whenever you are a graphic artist. Common sense should direct you, but we all know that there are those lacking in common sense
So, without further ado, here are my simple terms if you choose to ‘adopt’ any of my creations:
- The first, and most important term I have, is do not hotlink to anything on my site. My hosting is graciously provided through my sister Patience, and not only would you be stealing from me, you would be costing her money. Which isn’t cool. At all.
- What I have created is copyright to me. I may use other’s lineart or tutorials to create things, but I always give them my own spin, and always follow their terms when I do. Do me a favor, and don’t claim my work as yours.
- Nothing on my site, unless otherwise noted, is available for you to make a profit from. Do not adopt my dolls or pixels, and use them to create your own signatures, avatars, or the like. Don’t sell my items in ‘forums shops’, or print them in hard copy for use on clothing or other items. Most of the folks I use items from do not allow it in their terms, and I don’t allow it in mine.
- There are certain items on this site that are not available for adoption. They are items that I have created for someone else, or specifically for my own use. They will be clearly marked. None of the graphics used in the creation of this site (ie. layout, mood icons, etc) are available for the use of others unless I release them for such when I am finished using them. Please respect my wish to be original.
- Finally, if you do choose to adopt one of my works, make it very clear that it is not something you have created. I require, at the very least, a text link to http://footstepsdesign.com on the same page as my items. There are also link buttons available if you choose to use those instead.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this. I know they seem to be the “same old, same old”, but we as graphic artists work hard to create what we share with you. We deserve the credit that is rightfully ours.

All About Me
Posted on 09. Apr, 2006 by Kirsten.
Biographical Info:
- Name: Kirsten
- Age: 32 (and going in reverse
) - Location: Currently in Great Bend, KS, but hoping to relocate soon to somewhere up north – depending on where a prospective job will place me.
- Marital Status: Married – married to Nathan since May 28th, 2001
- Children: One stepson, Cory (16). He’s supposed to be with us part time, but we are currently trying to resolve a custody issue between my husband’s ex-wife and mother.
- Siblings: 2 brothers: Jeff & Jeremy, and 3 sisters: Sandra, Dianna & Carol. All are older except for Jeremy.
- Pets: An orange tigercat named Tinkerbelle, and a half sharpei / half blue heeler named Wrinkles
- Profession: I am a Registered Nurse, working as day shift charge at a LTC facility here in town
Interests:
- PaintShop Pro: In general, I have been using this program since sometime in 1997. That’s when I first got online, while waiting for my boyfriend to finish his shifts at the college radio station. It has broken down into two distinct areas:
- Dolling: I have been dolling since April of 2003. It has become one of my biggest hobbies, and I try to complete at least one doll a month depending on how my ‘muse’ cooperates
- Pixel Art: I just recently discovered the world of lineart and pixel painting. I’ve always been inspired by those who could, but I’ve never been one of them. Now I’m delving into it – and hope to be able to make some money from it soon
- Dolling: I have been dolling since April of 2003. It has become one of my biggest hobbies, and I try to complete at least one doll a month depending on how my ‘muse’ cooperates
- Blogging: I’ve had a LiveJournal for almost as long as I’ve been online – but just in the last year have I really gone ‘blog crazy’. I have several that I read on a routine basis besides those on my friendslist, and I enjoy the opportunity to look into someone else’s life the way they choose to share it.
- Reality TV: American Idol? I watch it. America’s Next Top Model? Live for it. Dog the Bounty Hunter? I wish I could sic him on a few trolls around here
I won’t watch all of them – some are just too stupid for me to waste my time on, but I do admit to being a reality-TV-aholic. I get snared into the stories and the ‘characters’ they present us with.

I was so lucky to have my first foray into Kimi’s sigtag club be a gift from my sister, Sarah. She thought this month’s goodies would be cute, and boy oh boy, is she right!
Here are the goodies that I have received this month:
